Sermon Key Points:

1. Adversarial Passion
   1. An adversary is someone that is against you
   2. Who is it that sought to derail the mission and the passion?
   3. Jesus said that the Passover and his death were coming (v. 2)
   4. Some of the chief priests, scribes, and elders of the people were seeking to derail Jesus
   5. Jesus knew he was going to die
   6. Jesus had adversaries
   7. Some unlikely adversaries:
      1. Some of the people in the crowd crying out Hosanna (Matthew 21:1-3,6-7,8-9)
      2. Satan and Judas (Luke 22:3)
      3. Some of the chief priests, scribes, and elders
2. Recognized Passion
   1. The Passion Week is recognized (Matthew 21)
   2. We are challenged to get closer to the Lord (Romans 14:5-6)
3. Eternal Passion PROPER
   1. PROPER means we are now going to talk about God the Father, who is eternal
   2. Fulfillment of prophecy shows the hand of God and his eternal passion
   3. Jesus recognizing that God the Father must be in the midst of it all (Matthew 27:46)
   4. God the Father is always present and knows everything
   5. Jesus has all authority (Matthew 28:18-19)
   6. Everything that we have started with Him, who is preeminent
