Background:

The Passion Week is about what Jesus felt in His heart for us and what He had to do to show His passion
Faith of necessity seeks greater understanding
If we have faith, then we should want to know more about our faith
This faith should make us more hungry and thirsty
There should be a goal of application

1. What some said

Jesus is on a mission - He has something to do
We can be upset when a person has 6 months to a year left; Jesus had one week left
Donkeys and horses are not the same things, both are needed because the colt kept the donkey calm, which was a sign that Jesus was coming in peace
Walk in faith without knowing where we are going...we have to trust Him
When studying, place ourselves in the scene and then see how it applies to us
Jesus proclaimed that He is the Messiah (v. 3)
The Old Testament foretold of Jesus arriving on a donkey (Zechariah 9:9; Isaiah 62:11)
The disciples were present along with the religious leaders and the government key figures
There are some scripture that we will not understand until we go through it (John 12:16)
Everyone was after Jesus (John 12:19)
The people recognized that Jesus is fulfilling prophecy (when they laid down their garments and cut down Palm branches)
Today, the Palm branches are a reminder of the beginning of Jesus' week
Hosanna indicated that they wanted to be saved now
They wanted to agree with Heaven
To get prayers answered, we must pray in accordance with God's will

Who's the guy on the donkey?
The people said: Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth of Galilee (v. 11)
Muslim, Jehovah Witnesses, and Mormons say otherwise
If we can live by the law, then we wouldn't need Jesus...but when we know who is on the donkey, then we know we need Him
